Just a ten minute walk is the town of Bridport, a thriving, quirky and cultural market town with a super reputation for its arts, culture, events and food. The town is a hive of activity with a mix of independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
The very attractive cliff top Bridport and West Dorset Golf Club is just a five-minute drive.
West Bay lies just a mile on from Bridport and is an attractive and bustling harbour village. From here you can explore the dramatic Jurassic coastline by boat, or try and catch your supper on a mackerel fishing trip!
For the wine lovers, Furleigh Estates is only a 15 minute drive away, where great tours of the vineyard are on offer.
The historic seaside town of Lyme Regis is well worth a visit and offers something for everyone, from its fascinating fossil heritage to its family friendly sandy beach and not forgetting the iconic Cobb and harbour.
The picturesque village of Abbotsbury has several attractions to visit, including a Swannery, where you can see mute swans on their nests, feed the cygnets and spot many common and rare visiting birds throughout the year. The award winning Subtropical Gardens makes for a lovely day out, the gardens showcase a mixture of formal and informal flowers with rare and exotic plants from all over the world. Stop off for homemade cake and tea from the garden coffee shop and visit the excellent plant centre, where many of the flowers grown in the gardens can be purchased.
The county town of Dorchester is just a 25 minute drive away and has two cinemas, a Roman Town house, several museums and numerous shops, cafes and restaurants.
