周辺エリアの情報
Belchamp Walter sits in a beautiful part of Suffolk close to both historic towns, areas of outstanding natural beauty and the coast. The Wool Towns of Sudbury, Lavenham and Long Melford are close by and worth exploring. The wool trade contributed to the wealth of the local merchants during the 15th Century and there are large numbers of timber framed houses which have survived from the period. Bury St Edmunds is slightly further afield but worth a visit. There are a number of arts venues including the Theatre and the Apex with an eclectic range of concerts, speakers and other performers to entertain. The Abbey Gardens have a changing display of plants and the town hosts a large Christmas market in early December.
Dedham Vale is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has some lovely walks to explore it. The scenery in the area forms the backdrop for a number of paintings by Constable and Munnings lived and worked from a studio in Dedham which is now a museum. The other Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty encompasses the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area. The sweet Victorian coastal resort of Felixstowe is the closest coastal town at around an hour away.
