On the top floor of Countisbury Lodge, up high on the cliff, overlooking Lynmouth, our apartment is quiet and relaxing and yet a short (steep) stroll downhill to the village with it's beautiful harbour, beach and river The apartment with its sea view provides the perfect base to sit back and relax after a day exploring Exmoor.

We like to give you space. However, we are generally available, if needed.

Lynmouth is a pretty Victorian coastal retreat with stone harbour, the East and West Lyn rivers join here and flow out into the Bristol Channel and the steep cliffs are covered with native forest. The village has plenty of lovely pubs, cafes and interesting shops all in a compact space. Lynton and Lynmouth are joined by the famous cliff railway, ascending 500ft powered only by water. Lynton has even more great shops, galleries and restaurants and even a cinema. This is the 'walking capital of Exmoor' and we are on the South West Coastal Path with dramatic views of Wales and a stunning coast line. Lynmouth is also on the Moor-to-moor and Coast-to-coast routes. There are dozens of short paths around the area, perfect for dog walking. Nearby attractions include - the 'Valley of Rocks' with its jagged rocky forms and local feral goats - Woody Bay Station does short trips on a real steam railway - Watersmeet is a tea room in a glade a mile and a half walk along the stunning Lyn valley This is a very active community and there are many events going on throughout the year, from street markets to Halloween spooktaculars.
