Sandford Mount is a well-known Victorian property in Charlbury. It was built in c1890, originally the house was the home for Christopher Bartlett, the first commercial frame-hive beekeeper in the country.
The flats are charming cosy boltholes for a maximum of 2 guests in each. They have been given a fresh makeover for some modern comfort without losing all the originality of its imperfections and quirkiness of being a vintage building. These flats are perfect for those who appreciate imperfections of an old dwelling. They are not your typical Cotswolds cottage interiors type of holiday lets, but rather an eclectic interiors styled apartments created from the principles of sustainability, recycling and preserving the building using the existing available sources.
Each has one bedroom with a double bed and one bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped for basic to simple cooking. The lounge area has a big television for you to enjoy and the dining area has a table for two. There is even a homage paid to the history of the building with the bee wallpaper in the entrance lobby.
Private parking is available on the property.
It is in a perfect location to base yourself in the Cotswolds if you wish to be away from the touristy areas but yet accessible to all of the attractions which you can simply get to by car, bus or train. Or you might just want to enjoy your days in our quiet little town, slow walks in the countryside and dining at the nearby popular pubs like the Bull and the Bell. The property is within short walking distance to town centre where those popular pubs are, cafes, pharmacy and for some basic grocery shopping. Charlbury is only a few minutes drive to bigger town like Chipping Norton or Witney for larger supermarkets and more choices of places to eat, to go and things to do.

Set in the Evenlode Valley, the town of Charlbury grew from a small clearing in the Wychwood Forest to a prosperous market town, due largely to its reputation as a glove making centre during the 18th and 19th centuries.Today the town is a quiet, unspoilt 'hidden gem' with a growing reputation as a centre for walking.
Surrounded by the remains of the ancient Wychwood Forest and encircled by the Oxfordshire Way, this Quaker town is full of fascination and wonder, combining rural charm with bustling town life.
