Property info

Award Winning Luxury 5-Star Gold accommodation by the sea. 2026 will be Broad Bay House's 20th season welcoming guests to our wonderful chain of islands, and we are delighted to be maintaining our reputation as one of the best places to stay in the Outer Hebrides. We are very proud to be the only 5-star Gold AA and Visit Scotland accredited Bed and Breakfast in the Outer Hebrides. And over the moon to receive the AA's Friendliest B&B of the Year Award for 2025. Purpose designed and built as a spacious luxury guest house, Broad Bay House is based on a traditional island design, equipped and decorated to a high quality contemporary style. The location itself is worth the 5 star gold rating, just a few miles north of Stornoway in a small working crofting community, and adjacent to a sweeping sandy beach with direct access from the house to the shore. On a clear day, the Scottish highlands can be seen across the Minch. Inside there are four spacious luxury en-suite bedrooms. All bedrooms are equipped with a flat screen Smart TV, a Bose Bluetooth speaker, wireless phone chargers and DVD player. In addition, each room has a Nespresso coffee machine, complimentary fruit, soft dressing gowns and luxury toiletries. Outside each bedroom is a personal decking area, with seating. Soft colours, natural woods and sympathetic furnishings provide a relaxing environment.

Neighborhood info

The Outer Hebrides is the only place to experience a unique and diverse chain of inter-connected Scottish islands on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors who seek peace and tranquillity or active adventure will discover Gaelic culture, vibrant activities, local food and drink, music, art and crafts all set in an outstanding environment. Our islands have space to feed your soul! The Isle of Lewis and Harris is technically 1 landmass but divided into 2 'islands', Lewis to the north and Harris to the south, with a range of hills that separates them. Harris is famed for Harris Tweed, Luskentyre beach, art galleries and the Golden Road. Lewis is famed for the discovery of the Lewis Chessmen on Uig Sands, Viking settlements, Callanish Standing Stones, an abundance of beautiful beaches and a wealth of ancient history. It is the largest Island in Scotland with an intriguing history and a proud Gaelic culture. You can enjoy and discover both 'islands' from Broad Bay House. We have history with mystery - intriguing stones and ancient cultures. We have an epic landscape - beaches, machair, peat, moor, hills and lochs. We have amazing wildlife - seals, eagles, puffins, otters, whales, dolphins and an array of bird-life. We have the Atlantic larder - seafood, smokehouses and distilleries. We have traditional and contemporary crafts - Harris tweed, potteries and galleries.
