On the banks of the North Tyne, the village of Bellingham features pretty stone cottages, ivy-strewn buildings, and a serene riverside setting. Perfect for nature lovers, Bellingham is surrounded by hidden waterfalls and an abundance of walking trails, making it the ideal spot for a peaceful weekend escape. After a good long walk, look forward to warming up by the fire in one of the village’s relaxed pubs or indulging in afternoon tea at one of the snug cafés. Echoes of the area's history are dotted throughout the village, with highlights including St Cuthbert's Church and the nearby St Cuthbert's Well, locally known as Cuddy’s Well. Ramble alongside Hadrian's Wall or embark on the Hareshaw Linn Walk, which leads to a stunning 30-foot waterfall. Unfortunately, it can suffer from long periods of low water conditions but after heavy rainfall the river rises quickly and generally a few days of good fishing follow.
