Boasting an open fire in the bright sitting room and two good sized bedrooms overlooking the village, Brook House is a delightful two bedroom Victorian Yorkshire Dales house set in the heart of Askrigg, Upper Wensleydale, which was the filming location for the famous original Herriot television series All Creatures Great and Small. This picturesque village is home to a cobbled central green, wonderful views, and scenic walks.

In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park the vibrant village of Askrigg is an excellent base for exploring all the area has to offer. Boasting three busy pubs The Crown Inn, The Middle House and The Kings Arms, all offering a different dining experience. A well stocked village shop, Syke's House and delicatessen, The Bakewell are full of sweet treats and home cooked meals to take back to the comfort of your cottage. For a gift to take home Heather and Grouse has locally handmade crafts.
There are many walks with spectacular scenery straight from your front door. Mill Gill Force on the edge of the village is a woodland walk with views of waterfalls.
A 10 minute drive away is Hawes, a small but busy market town with Independent shops and eateries, and also home to The Wensleydale Creamery where you can watch the traditional cheese being made and have a taste too!

A short drive over the heather covered moorland takes you to Swaledale, a narrow valley with traditional dry stone walls and field barns that are a feature of the beautiful landscape.
A 30 minute drive away is Richmond, a thriving market town with eateries a plenty and its very own Norman castle, Richmond Castle with spectacular views overlooking the fast flowing river Swale; The Georgian Theatre Royal, the oldest working theatre in its original form; and The Green Howards Museum, telling the fascinating story of this distinguished regiment.
