Brookhouse Grange
A tranquil retreat, within it's own extensive grounds. A Unique country house, dating back to the mid 1800's, with a fishing lake, large gardens, tennis court, putting green, lovely walks and a bookable rustic hot tub, nestled in the grounds. Attracting anglers, walkers, bird watchers and city escapers looking for a quiet, 'next to nature' relaxing break. Brookhouse is just 400 metres to Halifax golf club, which extends a warm invitation to Non- residents , offering a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the sport, amidst picturesque surroundings. We are walking distance to The moorlands Inn and The Causeway Foot inn where you are in for a local culinary treat. Nearby historical landmarks, such as The Piece Hall, in the centre of Halifax, with it's ever growing list of concerts, events and weekly markets. Visit Shibden Hall- immortalised by the t.v series 'Gentleman Jack', and the setting for 'Happy Valley', and the 'Last Tango in Halifax' with it's ever changing hills and valleys that make up this unique landscape of West Yorkshire. Hebden Bridge and Howarth (Home to the Bronte Sisters), and the famous cobbled street of shops and inns. Salts Mill is a beautiful building, which is a historical site, having been restored and put to modern day use - must see! The market town of Skipton, with it's castle and regular street market, is just over half an hour away. Brookhouse grange is a perfect stopover en-route to the Gateway of the Dales. There is free parking, just outside Brookhouse Grange, and you will have the warmest of welcomes from Graham and Harvey.
Brookhouse Grange is hosted by Graham and his adorable 11 year old chocolate labrador, who roams freely, enjoys seeing new guests, and accompanies Graham on his long walks. The extensive grounds lend itself to being 'home and away', all at the same time. Graham's has been a well known sporting legend in his own right, spending much of his life, playing rugby, for which he is famed locally. He has spent time, living in the local area as well as living abroad, and has now settled back in his local area, where he has and enjoyed his children growing up, before moving to pastures new. He enjoys meeting new people and will be happy to chat and guide you about the area, should you need places to go, or see, but a great host, who enjoys having Guests, is equally happy to leave you to enjoy all of the space, privately, and to your own devises.
Nestled in the scenic countryside of West Yorkshire, Brookhouse-Grange in Halifax offers a tranquil escape surrounded by rolling hills, lush greenery, and charming stone cottages. This picturesque location captures the essence of English rural life, with its winding lanes and breathtaking views of the Calderdale Valley. Enjoy leisurely walks along the nearby trails, explore the historic town of Halifax with its rich industrial heritage, or simply relax and take in the serene atmosphere.
