The Ceridwen Centre is an multi-award winning eco-sensitive holiday, course, retreat, event and wedding venue on a 40 acre Organic farm in the Teifi Valley in West Wales. We can accommodate over 60 people in a variety of comfortable unique spaces all restored, upcycled or made by our local on site team.
Ceridwen – converted Smithy , The Byre Cottage, Yurts in different settings, Double Decker Bus, Caban Bach – Eco Pod, Up-cycled static caravan “The Hop Shack” , and Camping and Caravan pitches.
The farm is a 40-acre Organic (Soil Association certified) smallholding, with polytunnels, paths to wander, and alternative Venue areas surrounding a very accessible courtyard. We are an eco farm, with solar panels, solar thermal, and two biomass boilers. One of which heats the Byre cottage, the main farmhouse, the workshop space in between & the larger self-catered house onsite. The other boiler heats our large Venue - the Pole barn.
Just a short walk, through the courtyard, and up some stairs, you'll find a playpark, for the children and you are welcome to wander through the paths, and baby woodland (we planted 4000 trees when we first arrived here- around 20 years ago!
It's also always worth checking the website for events taking place during your stay as we have a pop-up restaurant onsite, and other workshops, courses, and art exhibions taking place throughout the year.
We have a small but enthusiastic team to welcome you including our pet animals, 2 dogs, 2 donkeys, numerous cats, and 2 sheep.
This part of West Wales (North Carmarthenshire) is quieter than the likes of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. We're on a hill, surrounded by farmland on one side and a wooded valley on the other. It's a lush green environment and the night sky gets DARK. No light pollution here! some nights you can see the milkyway...
We're close enough to the beaches ( half hr drive), big tourist attractions (1hr away), forests (45 mins drive), and local town with interesting and useful shops (7 mins drive).
We also have two pubs, a village shop, health food shop, a chippy, a national woolen museum, and lots of local walks very close by.
It's predominantly Welsh-speaking around here. The community spirit is strong and there are lots of independent shops and interesting people to meet.
One point to note is that during late autumn and winter, the opening times for everything change, and the pace of life slows down. It's a beautiful place to visit all year round. Lots of our guests are returning customers who appreciate the changes throughout the year.
