The rooms are found to the right of Abbey Jet, (up 2 steps into the alleyway) on the old cobbled Church Street on the East side. Check in is self service via key safes accessed through the black door (unlocked) where the key safes are by the inner access door. Each of the rooms are decorated in a contemporary style with the double and family room overlooking the wonderful old cobbled Church Street. Please note that the rooms are on the second and top floor and are accessed by stairs and are therefore not suitable for the disabled. The Family suite is situated in the top floor which has a a couple of low beams, so please mind your head!. Please note that all bookings are ROOM ONLY and breakfast is not included. Tim & Julie have run Chartwell Retreat and their sister rooms (and the new Poppy Cottage) for over 7 years and live close by. Living and working in the wonderful old cobbled Church Street and walking on the beach with the dogs - what could be better!

The rooms are found on the old cobbled Church Street, just past the top of the Market place, to the right of Abbey Jet, up 2 steps into the alleyway where the black access door is just on the right. The door will be unlocked and the key safes and inner access door are inside. 2 of the rooms overlook the old and famous Church Street below where you will find some lovely shops and nearby places to eat and drink. The rooms are within a few hundred yards of the 199 steps leading to the old Abbey, Whitby Captain Cook museum and within 100 yards of the estuary and beach.
