Daisy Cabin is a secluded Log Cabin with private entrance and patio area, overlooking a pretty quiet garden area at the bottom of our large garden. A short walk down the Dess Burn at the back gate leads to the stunning River Dee where you can enjoy beautiful walks into the local villages of Kincardine O'Neil and Aboyne or beyond. Whether you are walking, cycling or in a car there are so many activities and tourist attractions within a short distance of this cosy dog friendly log cabin for two.
We have lived in Bridge Cottage for 8 years where we love walking our black labradors Indy and Bumble along the River Dee just minutes from the back door. We were both brought up in and around Royal Deeside we are passionate about sharing the beauty that lies on our doorstep and surrounding area and after building Daisy Cabin in 2020 and enjoying many staycations here, we now want to share it for others to enjoy too.
Our favourite places to enjoy from our doorstep are along the river, the Deeside way (41 miles of old railway line which runs from Aberdeen to Ballater), Dess Woods and waterfall. A short drive is Loch Kinnord, Burn O'Vat, Muir of Dinnet, Crathes Castle, Scotty Hill Banchory, Ballater and Balmoral.
We like to do our bit for the environment and you will find the Daisy Cabin mainly equipped with sustainable and cruelty free products. We encourage our guests to recycle all waste and provide recycling bins at the entrance. We love nature, watching wildlife and enjoy plant based cooking and and occasionally eating out at our local pub, The Boat Inn which is a 5 minute drive away in Aboyne.
We love to travel and explore new places and keen to see more of our own country in Scotland, there is so much to see!
Daisy Cabin sits at the bottom of our large garden in a secluded area. It sits back from the main road A93 amongst wildflowers, trees and a small woodland area beside the Dess Burn which leads to the Lower Dess Estate and a stunning view of the River Dee where you are free to absorb and explore the sights and sounds of this luscious area where wildlife thrives sighting ducks, deer, herons and if you are lucky otters and badgers too! We are minutes walk from the Deeside Way which runs for 41 miles between Aberdeen and Ballater, great on foot or bike. The trains stopped running in 1966 but this famous track travels along the River Dee, past Lochs, waterfalls and quaint villages.
The quaint and oldest village in Deeside, Kincardine O'Neil is approx 30 minutes walk along the banks of the river, the village store/post office provides fresh groceries, bread and take aways 6am to 5pm. Love Laura Lane for ice cream and cake treats, there is a Treasures Shop, Antiques Emporium and hairdressers too. Kincardine O'Neil Castle often run events, please look them up. If feeling adventurous you can go into the village along the Deeside Way which if full of natural beauty, enjoy a coffee or ice cream when you arrive in Kincardine O'Neil.
