Neighbourhood information

Rye enjoys a fabulous range of Independent shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants. The ancient town of Rye has a colourful history and when you walk the paths and streets you still get a sense of that today. There is always something going on, whether it is enjoying the benefits of the sea and the fact that it is still a fishing port, with the Scallop festival in February, or its vibrant artistic quarter with the Jazz festival in August and the Arts and music festival in September. There is always a good reason to visit. Rye Museum is next door to the property and St Mary's Church, with its famous Quarter Boys a five minute stroll. Interested in birdwatching, then Rye Nature Reserve is about 10 minutes by car and there you can wonder the paths and enjoy the views. The stunning beach of Camber Sands is only 3 miles away and if visiting without a car, there is the Sustrans path that you can walk or cycle about an hours walk from Rye. If wanting to venture further the seaside town of Hastings is accessible by bus, train or car and is a great day out if looking for something different
