The Artists Annex was renovated in 2023 to a very high standard and Micky is a 'Superhost' on Air BnB, The Artist Annex has also been voted by guests as a 'Favorite Place To Stay'. ; a delightful self-contained, bright, airy and arty space with a contemporary well equipped kitchen in an open plan living space and a king size bed in the separate bedroom.
Set in a peaceful, tranquil setting, guests are very welcome to use the ‘Lookout’ (shared with owner); a delightful little wooden cabin at the far side of annex; venture down a gravel path set in mini-orchard and sit in the ‘Lookout’ where you can enjoy the wonderful valley view with a morning coffee or your evening wine!
BBQ & log burner: A small tripod grill BBQ & log burner are located beside the ‘Lookout’, coals and lighter fluid can be found inside cabin with guest blankets.
The Artist Annex is set within a 0.5 acre garden next to the homeowners residence 'Tincotts' in the peaceful rural Hamlet of Trenilk. Guests can walk directly from the property to the Moors within 20 minutes or to the local pub 'Kings Head' which serves amazing home cooked meals and Sunday carvery and local ales.
Pets: dogs ONLY! Ten pound fee per dog for duration of the stay, payable on departure by cash please.
As a dog owner, myself, I welcome your well behaved and fully trained furry friends! However, they cannot be left unattended at any time in the annex and must always be exercised please on the lead in garden due to the livestock in surrounding fields. There is a 30 minute circular walk directly from property to the right of gate as you go out to exercise your dogs if you wish.
Doggy paws are not permitted in the bedroom, bed or sofa please. Otherwise additional cleaning charges may be requested!
There is a black bin beside the gate provided for dog waste in sealed doggy bags which I empty each week. Please pick up after your dog straight away. If you intend to bring dogs, please message me when booking to advise.
I fell in love with Cornwall when my parents moved to St Ives in my late 20's , I had just become an Art Dealer and my Gallery stocked printmakers from St Ives and was always inspired and fascinated by the painters and sculptors of St Ives School of Art.
I always knew one day I wanted to move to Cornwall. My dream came true in 2021 when I moved to the picturesque village of Altarnun.
The Artist Annex is inspired by my passion for Art.
The owner lives in the main house which is set opposite The Artists Annex and if not away is able to offer help if required throughout the stay.
The Artists Annex is set in the peaceful rural Hamlet of Trenilk. Guests can enjoy wonderful views of Bodmin Moor and sunsets and walk directly from the property to the Moors within 20 minutes. The Kings Head is the local pub with great pub food and real fire, a 10 minute walk from the property.
You can walk into the village of Altarnun in 15 minutes where you will find a post office with convenient licensed shop and a lovely little coffee shop selling amazing homemade cakes! There's a picturesque bridge with a pretty stream flows in front of St Nonna's Church, also known as the Cathedral of the Moors, and is the second largest church on Bodmin Moor.
Launceston is the nearest large town which is only 15 mins drive away.
Nearest Train Station is 17 miles - Bodmin Parkway.
Crackington Haven, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude, Padstow, Port Isac, Eden Project and Newquay all a 30-40 min drive.
