    Great homely location. I made good use of the outdoor facilities and my kids loved climbing up the garden area. Facilities were tip top and the hosts had thought of lots of creature comforts.

Property information

Dock Tarn Lodge is a wonderful south-facing lodge situated towards the top end of an established woodland estate where sightings of red squirrels, roe deer and an abundance of birdlife are common. Ambleside is an easy 3-miles away with a local bus stop at the bottom of the lane, connecting you to Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick or Coniston. A local pub and a fantastic cafe are situated a 5-minute walk away at Skelwith Bridge. South-facing property with outside seating. Two bedrooms - a double & a bunk with three-quarter double below and a single above, free parking. Pool facilities are available from the start of March to the end of October. One dog is permitted. Parking for one car.

Neighbourhood information

Neaum Crag Estate is a superbly-peaceful environment situated within an established woodland with towering trees, roaming wildlife, including red squirrels and roe deer, and the central location is ideal for exploring the South Lakes including Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston and Grasmere. A bus stop is found at the bottom of the lane which makes it easy to explore without the car. Within 5-minutes walk is Skelwith Bridge, home to the popular Chesters Cafe, the Slate Gallery and the Skelwith Hotel and Talbot Bar, popular with walkers who enjoy the outside seating. From Skelwith is a wonderful walk along the River Brathay leading to Elterwater and Elterwater Village.
