Doghouse Margate is a luxury dog-friendly B&B. We are located in a quiet residential street just 500 meters from the sea. Our pared back minimalist design brings calm and tranquillity to our guests. We offer delicious breakfast options which are made using locally sourced produce and served in the privacy of your room. Doghouse Margate is owned and run by Fe and Mel Duhaney-Keown, both native Londoners. They married in August 2014 and settled in East London. During this time they bought a loving French Bulldog into their lives by the name of Thierry, named after Fe’s favourite football player from her beloved Arsenal football club. Mel, who has the gift of turning her hand to most things, worked within the financial sector and Fe a nationally recognised basketball coach collectively decided to leave the fast-paced London life behind them. They Marie Kondo’ed their lives and made the move to Margate, having brought the property in 2018. During their 2-year renovation period, Fe and Mel wanted to restore as many of the original features as possible. While applying a paired back look that would assist with welcoming guests to enjoy the tranquillity of living by the sea. Unique in an offering that is both queer and dog-friendly our guests can feel a sense of family warmth from the moment they arrive.
