The bustling town is a 5 minute walk from the apartment, with a wide range of independent family run shops, bars, bistros and restaurants to visit. Many of which are dog friendly and are very accommodating. Saltburn houses one of the oldest pub The Ship from the 1500s and an award winning fish and chips at the Sea View Restaurant. Saltburn by the Sea is perfect for people who love the great outdoors, the unspoilt beach is a two minute walk away. It features the oldest functioning water-powered cliff lift and the pier, over 200m long which has become popular for fishing and the “Yarn bombers”. Saltburn Gill houses a 52 acre woodland nature reserve including seal colonies. Then there is the valley gardens with its maze of paths and tracks which wind through the mature woodland and seasonal flower beds within the Italian Gardens. Saltburn is popular if you fancy learning to surf or, as we prefer, sit and watch them with our fish and chips and a refreshing beverage. Further afield you can hike along the Cleveland Way-36 mile Heritage coastal walk has amazing views of the dramatic headlands and secret smugglers' caves as you head towards Whitby.
