Welcome to Duchy House, situated in the heart of stunning Dartmoor National Park where myths and legends combine with the sheer beauty of the wild. The Victorian guest house, built in 1888, is located in the centre of Princetown a two-minute walk from the village pubs, cafes and shops. All rooms have en-suite facilities and are tastefully furnished to complement the Victorian house and the surrounding landscape. In addition to a Nespresso coffee machine and hospitality tray, each room has a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries. Rated include a wide variety of homemade breakfast choices, including a locally sourced full English, in addition to a cold buffet selection of cereal, yogurt, and fruits, etc.

Duchy House in Princetown is an award winning B&B situated in the heart of stunning Dartmoor National Park. We have six en-suite rooms, each with a Nespresso coffee machine , flat-screen TV, free WiFi and complimentary toiletries and we are a two-minute walk from the village pubs, cafes and shops.
If you enjoy cycling, walking or just relaxing then Duchy House is the perfect place to stay! You can walk in almost any direction and be on open moorland in less than five minutes. There is no shortage of fantastic riding to be had right on our doorstep – Dartmoor is a cyclists dream.
We provide super comfy beds and a five star breakfast with a wide variety of homemade choices – from a locally sourced cooked breakfast to a healthy smoothie and everything in between – leaving you refreshed and refuelled ready for the day ahead.
Muddy boots are welcome and we have dedicated secure bike storage, as well as mountain bikes available for hire.

Duchy House is a one minute walk from the centre of Princetown which has a selection of cafes, shops and pubs as well as the National Park Visitor Centre (located in what used to be the Duchy Hotel), where Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Princetown is easily accessed from Exeter to the north or Plymouth to the south, both of which have good road links and main line rail connections.
Nearby towns worth exploring include Ashburton, Chagford and Widecombe in the Moor – the picture-perfect setting for a traditional Devonshire cream tea. The ancient UNESCO World Heritage town of Tavistock is only seven miles away, and several National Trust properties are nearby including Saltram House, Buckland Abbey, Cotehele House and Lydford Gorge. The historic port city of Plymouth lies fifteen miles to the south west and there are also three moorland golf courses within a twenty-minute drive. Slightly further afield, but still within easy reach, is the Roman city of Exeter, the Eden Project and the beautiful coast and beaches of north and south Devon.
