Stay Gower proudly presents ‘The Duck House’, a shepherd’s hut, in the area of Upper Killay, Swansea. Beautifully presented in a wonderfully relaxing garden with, as the name suggests, ducks and some cheeky chickens! This perfect little getaway is ideal for 2 people, wanting some peace and quiet but also wishing to be within driving distance of all the area has to offer, including a host of Gower beaches, as well as Swansea city centre and the Mumbles. The Duck House is located in the large back garden of the owner’s home. There is ample parking for 1 or 2 cars in the front of the main house, with enough space to ensure nobody is blocked in or travel interrupted during your stay. Making your way behind the house, into the garden, you will find the Duck House, which overlooks the ducks and chickens wandering freely within the boundaries of their space. Patio furniture is provided for you to sit and enjoy the relaxing pond and birds as they go about their business. In addition, you may want to bring a disposable BBQ, to use on the provided stand nearby, ready for you to maximise your outdoor enjoyment! Inside, the Duck House is heated by an electric radiator, together with a heated towel rail in the bathroom. There is free Wi-Fi, a small TV and a Hi-fi unit. The kitchen is perfect for meal preparation with an oven and hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. The table is attached to the far end with bench seating, ample room for 2 people to share and enjoy a home cooked meal or a takeaway treat from one of the many local restaurants. At bedtime, after a long day of exploring and relaxing, the comfy double bed is lowered carefully from the wall behind the dining table. Please note: this is quite heavy so it can be set up prior to arrival if necessary, just let us know! Of course, the seating area & table are unable to be used when the bed has been lowered over them.

Rhossili Bay, famous for its sweeping sands and dramatic cliff views, is a must-visit. It’s a lovely walk down to the beach, with spectacular scenery at every turn. Other nearby beaches include Oxwich Bay, with its expansive sandy shores and clear waters, ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and watersports. Port Eynon and Three Cliffs Bay are also popular destinations, each offering unforgettable coastal experiences. Bars and Restaurants In and around Kilay, you'll find a selection of welcoming pubs and eateries. The nearby Mumbles area is particularly popular for its vibrant dining scene. Try Joe’s Ice Cream for a delicious treat, and enjoy a variety of cafes and restaurants offering everything from classic fish and chips to contemporary Welsh cuisine. Gower Road and Mumbles Pier are hotspots for local pubs like The Black Boy Inn and The King's Head, both renowned for their cosy atmospheres and excellent drinks. Mumbles Mumbles is a vibrant seaside village just a few miles from Kilay, famous for its charming shops, picturesque pier, and lively harbour. It’s perfect for leisurely strolls, with plenty of ice cream parlours, cafes, and boutique shops. Mumbles offers a lively nightlife too, with bars like The Oyster House and The Mumbles Inn, perfect for relaxing evenings with friends.
