Easedale Lodge
Easedale Lodge is centrally located in the Ambleside village conservation area, you can do many famous walks and drives directly from the Lodge and the beautiful Lake Windermere is less than one mile from the front door. The Ambleside cafes, bars, traditional pubs and eclectic mix of restaurants are within a few minutes walk from Easedale Lodge as are the shops, museums, cinema screens, climbing wall and well equipped park opposite the house providing crazy golf, bowls and tennis. Easedale Lodge is a charming, Victorian Lakeland stone house that retains many original features with solid oak doors and Lakeland slate tops to furniture. Easedale Logde has double glazing, full central heating, a pressurised hot water system and unlimited free WiFi use.  Easedale Lodge has seven beautifully appointed double bedrooms, one with twin beds and each room has lovely views of the village and the surrounding landscape, each bedroom has individual decor to suit all tastes, with comfy beds and sumptuous soft furnishings. Each bedroom has a digital television, hairdryer and radio alarm clock. The pristine shower rooms have powerful showers, hand wash and soft towels. There is free parking on site for up to 5 cars too, yes - in the centre of Ambleside!
We love Easedale Lodge and try to spend as much time at the house as we can with our family. We are happy to share this amazing spot with guests so you can also create memories here from your own adventures. When in town we make sure we have booked a few interesting pubs or restaurants for a couple of evenings and if we are planning on activities other than bike or on foot then we makes sure we reserve places in advance for peace of mind. Ambleside hosts many local attractions and activities, either in the village itself or a short drive or bus ride away, such as: William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, Armitt Museum, Stagshaw Gardens, Wray Castle with many National Trust Propertys and beautiful Gardens to visit. Head North towards Grasmere & Keswick, South to Windermere & Bowness, or loop around the village to go to Coniston or the Langdales. Tour the Lake Districts best driving routes: Wrynose & Hardknott pass, The Langdale Round, Kirkstone Pass to Ulswater, The West Coast including Morecambe Bay, Honister Pass & Slate Mine, Grizedale & Whinlatter Forrest and Keswick & Borrowdale. Combine a Boat Cruise on Lake Windermere with a Walk or an Open Top Bus journey.  Take the Steam Boat Gondala from the Blue Bird Cafe on Coniston or on Ullswater. Ambleside has its own indoor Climbing Wall, you can hire Mountain Bikes in the village and you can hire Rowing Boats and Kayaks on Windermere. Sometimes it's nice to just grab a take-away and relax with board games in the warmth of the house. The beauty of this location is the flexibility it has for multigenerational gatherings and varying levels of activity.
Ambleside offers live music in a number of venues ranging from folk singers in the traditional pubs, to local ‘rock stars’ in the trendy wine bars and more widely known jazz and soul stars at Zeffirellis. Larger venues a short drive away are The Brewery Arts Centre at Kendal, The Coro at Ulverston and The Forum at Barrow. Ambleside boasts an array of outdoor clothing & equipment shops making it the ideal place to renew your walking and outdoor gear. The village also has a number of interior decoration and gift shops  - perfect for presents or for treating yourself. In Ambleside you can view or buy artwork, crafts and paintings from many well known artists as well as local craftsmen and women. Also in the vicinity are a number of heritage centres, art houses and galleries showing the works of famous artists. See if you can find Mr McGregor's toy shop from Peter Rabbit 2 in town and you will be amazed by Bridge House - the most curious tiny house built over the Stock Beck River to avoid land tax (genius). Many Walks can be started from our front door, such as: Loughrigg, Wansfell, Fairfield Horseshoe, Red Screes etc.
