Perfect set up for a group of friends. Enough beds so that there was no need for people to sleep in double beds when not happy to share. Very well equipped and comfortable

This large seaside home is in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Aberporth. We've recently renovated this grand old 1930s house to its former seaside glory and have restored all of its original features and furniture. It's location is perfect! Five minutes walk to two stunning, sandy beaches (one of which is dog friendly), local gastro pubs, shops and world famous coastal path. With onsite parking at the Old Sea Captain's House, you can enjoy this lovely seaside destination without the cost and stress of finding a parking space! This beautiful seaside village was recently voted one of Wales' top 10 beach destinations. It is one of the least rainy places in Wales. Cardigan Bay has the largest population of bottlenose dolphins in Europe, and from May to October, they can be seen from shore, the coastal path or from one of the many boat trips that are available to book nearby. The house is a 3 minute walk to the world-famous coastal path. We have a large, secure front and back garden (a rare thing in Aberporth) which is great for doggie guests and young children. This is a fabulous place for large groups of friends and family. There are sea views from most rooms.
We are friendly, honest and approachable so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!! We hope you fall in love with the Old Sea Captain's House, just like we have. We saw the house for sale in April 2018 while walking our dogs on our favourite beach and instantly knew we had to bring it back to its former glory. We have spent the last 2 years gutting and completely renovating the house. Each of the 63 windows were hand repaired and restored to their original state. We are passionate about the environment and have been conscious of our 'carbon footprint' all the way through this renovation. We sourced local materials from local suppliers. We wanted to preserve this building's charm, while creating a comfortable, modern holiday home. We are originally from East London but moved to West Wales 7 years ago....we simply love this part of the world! We are passionate about travelling and have stayed in hundreds of holiday homes over the past 25 years. We feel we are well qualified to know what our guests expect. We don't have any reviews yet, but don't let that put you off. The advantage of this being a new rental is that everything is new!
The Old Old Sea Captain's House is a great base for exploring this absolutely stunning part of the world. There's so much to do; stunning beaches, cycling, sailing, kayaking, coasteering, diving, surfing, walking, theme parks, farms, wildlife centers, fishing, seal and dolphin boat trips, crabbing, horse riding, visiting castles and historic places.....the list goes on and on. In fact, Wales has more castles per km2 than anywhere else on earth! For those who enjoy browsing antique/craft shops and long pub lunches, there are charming market towns and villages for you to explore nearby. Just 10 minutes away by car is Cardigan, a bustling market town with supermarkets, a leisure center, cinema/theatre, craft/antique shops and plenty of great pubs and restaurants. Close by is the Cliff's Hotel with superb spa facilities. So, whatever the weather, there's plenty to do. In the evenings, you can have a night in and make use of the facilities in the house or walk to one of the pubs for dinner and enjoy the long summer evenings watching the sunset on the beach. The choice is yours! booking, a welcome pack will be provided with more information about things to do in the local area.
