Forthay is a 17th Centuary grade 2 listed farmhouse made out of cotswold stone bursting with character, charm and luxury touches.
It is set in an idyllic location in the rural hamlet of Forthay, an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) overlooked by Tyndale Monument on the Cotswold Way. It is surrounded by rolling Gloucestershire countryside between Wotton Under Edge and Dursley.
Forthay is the perfect retreat for guests who are looking for peaceful, relaxed accommodation with a touch of luxury.
Being surrounded by such breath-taking countryside and exhilarating walks it only seems fair that we welcome your well-behaved four legged friends to join you. In fact at Forthay we love our dogs and walking so much we provide a boot-room for your footwear, laundry room to dry your outdoor wear, a heated dog shower, dog bowls and dog beds. There is a small charge of £10 per dog per night. We also provide dog sitting for guests attending weddings or days out where dogs may not be permitted e.g. Highgrove.
There is a cosy snug available for guests use complete with log burner and a library of books and board games.A great room to relax in, read, play board games or plan the next days activities.
We have 3 luxury rooms available.
Two double rooms with king-size sleigh beds. One has a large private luxury bathroom, the other an en suite toilet and shower room.
The third bedroom is a twin room with a private toilet and shower room.
All showers are power showers.
All rooms have free broadband, Egyptian cotton bedding, feather and down duvets and pillows (non allergenic available on request), large fluffy towels and bathrobes, powerful hairdryers, Roberts DAB radios, luggage racks, complimentary water and a selection of teas and coffees with cafetiere and luxury Noble Isle toiletries.
All areas in the house have wifi.
Forthay is a country home from home with added luxuries to create a relaxing and memorable stay.All guests receive a warm and friendly welcome when visiting Forthay.
In the Winter guests can relax in the cosy snug in front of an inglenook with log burner whilst enjoying a slice of homemade cake and a pot of tea.
In the Summer guests can relax in one of the several outdoor seating areas, play croquet or boules on the lawn or table tennis for the more competitive.
Debs and Charles, the owners live on site in a separate wing and are available to assist guests throughout their stay organising dinner reservations, taxi's, providing local directions and any other needs to create an enjoyable and relaxing break.
Walkers exploring the Cotswold Way receive a complimentary pick up and drop off from Dursley and/or Wotton Under Edge, just let us know when booking. Pick up in Dursley is The Old Spot Inn and drop off the next morning at Wotton Under Edge is in theHigh Street.
