Fossils Retreat is a cosy, 2 bedroom chalet sitting just back from the cliff top at Sandown Bay. It's a lovely peaceful location, with great views, bespoke outside space, and superfast broadband. Dog friendly too. We have tried to equip our chalet with everything we think our guests might need, and in turn our guests have described Fossils Retreat as a "home from home". We're pleased with that and try to go the "extra mile" to help.

Diane and Ian are semi-retired and have travelled widely. We "get" the self catering business. For us it's about hospitality so we try to do all we can for our guests to provide a welcome and a care free stay with us. We love the location of Fossils Retreat, and stay here ourselves in our quieter periods. Like us, our dog, Boo, loves the Downs and the beaches which are just a few minutes from the chalet. The Islands Coastal footpath is just 100m from Fossils Retreat and gives access to both for excellent dog walking. Brilliant!

Our chalet is on a wider site and looks out over the fields, Downs, clifftop, and beaches. The adjacent Downs are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there's amazing walks literally from our doorstep. We are just a short walk from Sandown the seaside resort which has all the seaside amenities you might expect. There's an uncommonly good range of restaurants, cafes, and bars, many of which Ian has listed in a guide inside our chalet. It is also well located to drive to the rest of the Isle of Wight's towns, villages and attractions - you won't run out of things to do!
