Just one mile from Hadrian’s Wall, this is the perfect base for exploring one of Britain’s most iconic landmarks. Walk in the footsteps of Roman soldiers, visit Housesteads or Vindolanda Roman forts, and take in the breathtaking views of the rugged Northumberland landscape. The town itself offers a traditional and friendly atmosphere, where locals still greet each other by name. Less than a 10-minute stroll from the mansion, you’ll find two dog-friendly pubs, while the centre of Haltwhistle with its selection of amazing pubs, restaurants, cafés, and boutique stores is just a 10 to 15-minute walk away.
