Quiet, secluded property just 10 minutes from the festival town of Hay-on-Wye. A former residence of writer and traveller Penelope Chetwode (Lady Betjeman) with outstanding views of the Wye and Golden Valleys. As you drive up Cusop Hill to the property you will see Herefordshire on your left and stunning views of the Black Mountains to your right.
Some recent highlights for the owners are dark skies and the annual Perseid Meteor shower, deer in the garden, birds of prey such as red kites and buzzards above, native British orchids in the meadow, walks in New House Wood, the Hay Literary Festival, fine dining in Hay and evenings by the fire.
Living here feels like you are in the middle of nowhere; quiet and private, yet restaurants, shopping, canoeing, fishing, historic sites like Arthur's Stone, Hay Castle and Offa's Dyke are just 10 minutes away.
