Perfectly located for us as we were walking over the weekend stay. The property was very well maintained with a perfect amount of space for us. The nearby facilities included a few pubs and a garden centre. We couldn’t park for the whole weekend...

Our High street apartment is spacious and elegant and on the middle floor of a 3 storey Grade II listed Georgian house. The apartment is minutes away from the Market Place. Uppingham is a quintessentially beautiful, small English town with lots of independent retailers, restaurants, antique shops and art galleries, all in a historic heritage setting. Uppingham market day is on a Friday where the little town bustles with life and looks even more traditional.
We both have a background in Art & Design - working for many years as Textile Designers. We lived in this apartment for 4 years after living in a Rutland village for nearly 20 Years. In December 2015 we moved to another house a few minutes down the same road which allows us to have the flexibility to be good hosts.
Rutland is the smallest county in England with 53 villages and just two towns: Oakham and Uppingham.  Uppingham is the  smaller  town , and many would argue that it is the prettier of the two. It's an ideal place to come to eat and drink or to generally mooch about in the many independent shops & galleries. Rutland is the only county in England not to have a McDonalds! It is about a 15 minute drive (8-9 miles) to the car parks on the beautiful North shore of Rutland Water ( haven for bird watchers, anglers and cyclists) There are country walks in all directions from Uppingham. There is an award winning Sports Centre within walking distance where there are many sports activities, classes and swimming available for visitors Uppingham is in a great position to get to other places. It is about 8 miles away from the A1 from where you can drive North or South, and it is on the A47 which links Leicester and Peterborough. Go 30 mins south to Kettering and the A14 goes East & West (to the M1, & M6). The nearest train station is 15 minutes away, in Corby – about an hour to London from there.
