The Lodge is a genuine Norwegian-built cabin - cosy, all-wooden, atmospheric and child-friendly (I have a toddler). It sleeps four (plus child’s cot), is well-equipped, fully furnished with a fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher; LCD TV with 'Freeview' satellite; wet-room style bathroom with pressure shower. Heated with latest heat-exchange technology. Free Wi-FI
I am delighted to share our Highland Lodge with you. It is our family home set in one of the most beautiful parts of the planet. The silence can be deafening, until the birdsong comes. We have spent so many happy times up here and the lodge is the perfect setting to explore the area. I believe we are alienating ourselves from nature, and therefore from our true selves - and being here helps us to reconnect with what we are losing - losing at out peril. I hope you reconnect here and find peace within and without.
Highland Lodge is a 4-star self-catering lodge in the heart of the Highlands on the popular North Coast 500 route. 5 minutes drive from the charming village of Beauly - Gateway to 5 glorious glens. Unique rural setting, on top of a hill, with panoramic views of Glen Affric and the Grampian mountains. A paradise for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts, with walks straight from the lodge up into the hills behind us. Over half the Munros can be achieved in day trips from the lodge. Inverness Airport (with cheap flights from LGW, LHR and domestic airports): 30 Minutes. Inverness City Centre: 25 Minutes Beauly village station: 5 Minutes Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle: 20 Minutes Aigas Field Centre: 10 Minutes Dolphin, seal and wildlife watching: 25 minutes Aviemore Ski Resort: 1 Hour The best countryside in the world: 0 minutes Dalwhinnie, Glen Ord, Tomatin, Cardhu, The Macallan, Glen Moray, Balblair, Glenmorangie whiskey distilleries all close by.
