Hi, I am Marta and my partner Niall is my co-host. We are a couple who live in the Lake District. Niall grew up in the lakes whereas I moved here when I was 16. We love the outdoors and going on adventures. We enjoy wildlife and nature and especially encouraging other people to get out of the city and into the wild! We like to give our guests a warm welcome and make sure they have plenty of good tips and local knowledge on great (and often quite secret) places to visit, see, eat and drink. If you have any questions do not hesitate to message me! Myself and Niall are available at any time during your trip to assist with anything you might need; - recommendations on where to eat, - what walks to do and when, - and most importantly, how to avoid the crowds, get off the beaten path and see the special places that everyone else misses. A stylish, homey bungalow, filled with natural light and just a short stroll from the centre of Bowness. Ideal for a Lakes getaway with friends and family. Located in the centre of the Lake District in the popular village of Bowness on Windermere, very near to the lake, restaurants, bars and boating centre. The apartment is set in a quiet residential area 2 minutes walk from the centre. *Please note that the flat is located at the top of a hill. It is a very short walk but steep. *Please be aware this is an apartment, I do have neighbours below. *New bathroom will be fitted in January and bath will be replaced with a walk in shower.

Neighbourhood information

The neighbourhood is in a select part of Bowness along a private road in a very safe residential area. The apartment is located on a small hill just a short walk away (7 minutes) from centre of Bowness. Bowness and her nearby neighbour Windermere, have a bustling high street providing plenty of amenities from every day shopping and supermarkets, health centre and a broad variety of shops, high quality restaurants, cafes and other amenities, including a seasonal theatre, cinema, golf club, motorboat and yacht club. Buses are available in Bowness to all areas of the Lake District. There is a train station in Windermere, 5 minutes drive away for trains to all parts of the country. Taxis are readily available. Guests can also enjoy leisure boat trips along Windermere Lake or hire a motor or rowing boat. Set within the heart of the National Park and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ever popular Bowness has good access to local road networks and junction 36 can be reached within 20 minutes whilst the rail links from Windermere filtering to the main line at Oxenholme provide speedy access to Edinburgh, Manchester and to London Euston in less than 3 hours.
