Enjoy a memorable visit when you stay in this unique place. The Coach House is an eighteenth century building at the heart of the village of Hesket Newmarket. The village has a famous pub, the Old Crown, a shop and a brewery and is a great base for exploring the northern fells of the Lake District. The Coach House has been a moot hall, a musical instrument workshop and the village garage. It became a house in the 1980s and was restored in 2023 to make a comfortable holiday home.

Hesket Newmarket is an historic Lake District village in the northern fells with a famous community owned pub (visited by King Charles), a craft brewery and a shop. Hesket is a great base for walking, whether you are aiming to bag some Wainwrights or are hiking the Cumbria Way, which passes about a mile away. The area is also popular with fell runners, mountain bikers and climbers. The larger village of Caldbeck is 1.5 miles by car or slightly further waking through meadows and woods along the river. Keswick, Carlisle and the Solway coast are each about 30 minutes drive. Public transport in the northern fells is limited so you will need a car, a bike or good strong legs in order to explore the area. There is ample free parking in the village and it is nearly always possible to park immediately adjacent to the house.
