Really cosy and quiet. A perfect getaway for a couple. The house was very well equipped and there were lots of little luxuries like candles, robes and a nespresso coffee machine. Beautiful scones on arrival.

Character and excellence - with a touch of luxury - are the hallmarks of The Byre, which is a recently renovated, self-contained 3-storey sandstone cottage unit in an historic courtyard setting adjoining our house.
We are deep in beautiful countryside with fine views to the North Pennines and Lakeland Fells - ideally positioned for the Lake District National Park, with the charming villages of Hesket Newmarket and Caldbeck just minutes away. The Eden Valley, the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Hadrian’s Wall Country are also easily accessible, as are the historic border city of Carlisle and the charming market towns of Penrith and Keswick.
