This main door, luxurious and artsy ground floor apartment is in a quiet, traditional tenement building, with free street parking for your car, and many buses into the city. It is 25 mins walk from Waverley train and 3 mins walk into Holyrood Park & Arthur's Seat. The Palace of Holyrood, and the Royal Mile, only a 15 minute walk. In the other direction is the trendy city beach of Portobello with promenade, cafes, artisan bakers only 25 min walk away.
I am a very open friendly and professional person. People say I am very positive and even inspirational. I have had by own business for many years in the fashion sector and now I am a part time lecturer in Business as well as run my own business. I value my freedom, creativity and work with my intuition, I have a flexible approach to life and I am much more go with the flow. I love the arts, learning new skills, seeking knowledge and expanding my comfort zone and feel very comfortable and confident with myself; and therefore with others. I would want you to feel at home and relaxed whether I was there or not, just be yourself. I believe in trust and respect so treat others as you would like to be treated, and it seems to work for me. The apartment is self check and the building is monitored by camera. This is my main residence however I stay near by when hosting guests. I know the city very well so please feel free to drop me a line for any advice or recommendations.
Meadowbank is a quiet yet centrally located neighbourhood. Its main features are the immediate access to the magical and majestic Holyrood park which has the famous mini mountain ( dormant volcano) of Arthurs Seat and Salisbury Cragg, not to mention 2 lakes with swans! If you want wilderness in the city you have come to the right place, pack your running shoes or walking boots. On the other hand the park hosts the Medieval Holyrood palace, the Scottish home of the King and the former home of Mary Queen of Scots. In fact one of the nearest cafes is the one in the palace which is gracious and spacious with views over the park and free too! Next to the palace is the controversial modern building of the Scottish Parliament which you can visit and sit in on parliamentary debates. Of course when you are there you are at the start of the Royal Mile which extends from the Palace of Holyrood right up to Edinburgh Castle. Closer to the flat on London Road with the junction of Easter Road are more cafes than you can shake a stick at. The best way to get there is to walk parrallel to London Road along side the park on Royal Park Terrace and come up the 'back' on Abbey Lane for the best of city and nature vibes combined. Basically don't walk on the main road ! It's boring unless you are on the bus. There is so much more I can say about this great part of the city and have added a Neighbourhood section to the Apartment guide, you will get that when you book.
