Set right on the Duddon estuary, HH is perfect for walkers, birders, nature lovers. The modern house captures the views from light, airy rooms. Muddy boots and wet clothes weren’t a problem. And a self-service breakfast was a real bonus.

Beautiful house in a very interesting location--you have to drive through a grotty industrial estate to reach it, but I like that slightly 'edgelands' feel. Gorgeous meadow in front of it and you walk out to magnificent views of the Duddon estuary...

15 mins walk to an isolated beach. 10 mins walk to town centre. Lots of footpaths to follow around the coast. Host was very accommodating and helpful - she even asked if we needed anything when she popped in to town. 💓 Views are absolutely...

Listening to bird song whilst having breakfast in the beautiful Atrium, which overlooked a wildflower meadow and the Duddon estaury and surrounding mountains. Nearby there is a ruined harbour and a short walk to a bird reserve.

A haven of peace and tranquillity, Horama House was built 2007 to a very high specification and designed to take advantage of its unique location adjacent to a nature reserve and on the Duddon Estuary, with unrivalled panoramic views of the Lakeland Mountains. There is wheelchair access from the ample tarmac car park and all guest facilities are on the ground floor. The guests' sitting room/breakfast room is in the Atrium where microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer, cutlery and crockery are available for guests who wish to prepare own meals. The Atrium opens onto the estuary garden (wild flowers in spring and summer) - here there is table and seating on the patio. Exiting from our estuary garden gate, turn left and walk alongside the water's edge of the wildlife rich Duddon Estuary which has been awarded a number of national and international conservation designations. The town is 20 minutes walk through the 20 ha Local Nature Reserve. Millom is a quaint former industrial town with a Heritage Museum and Visitor Centre - a Grade 1 listed Norman building, The Holy Trinity Church and remains of Millom Castle are nearby.
We, Carol and David live in the upper part of the house and are pleased to welcome guests and, where able, to assist with local knowledge and facilities. It's a matter of personal pride to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

The town has numerous eating places providing quality and variety, supermarkets , a garage and train station. Exiting the garden gate right, the path is beside the former Millom Pier and leads to a secluded beach. A few kilometres further will take you to the hide and lagoon of RSPB Hodbarrow - a little further, is the village of Haverigg with nearby beaches, sand dunes, cafe and children's playground. The wider neighbourhood has fabulous hiking and mountain bike opportunities and offers watersports, birdwatching, horse riding, walking with wolves! and much more. The Western Lake District has England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, and most photographed lake, Wastwater. Easy access to the many tourist experiences offered.
