Built in 1794, 4 Sydney Place was the Bath home of Jane Austen and her family from 1801 to 1805, and this charming, Grade I listed, period-feature filled, comfortable and characterful courtyard apartment can be your home for a time too! Offering a spacious living room, large double bedroom, new bathroom, and a fully featured kitchen, this newly renovated and historic apartment grants a quiet respite from the busy streets of Bath, and additionally has two gorgeous and sunny outdoor courtyards for your sole use. In this house, Jane started work on her early and unfinished novella, "The Watsons". The apartment was once the kitchen and butler's pantry of the Austen home, and provides spacious accommodation in rooms packed with original Georgian features, from panelled walls and flagstone floors to vast kitchen fireplaces, with a private entrance and front and rear courtyards. The living room, which was the kitchen of the house, has a large chaise-style sofa, several ridiculously comfortable victorian armchairs, a William IV Indian Rosewood dining table and sideboard, a printer and monitor, and a 55" television with surround sound system.
Hi, I’m Maxwell. I’m travelling the world with my wife, Anna, and we’re making our apartment in Bath, UK, available while we’re not there! The original pennant stone floor in the apartment was walked by Jane Austen herself, and therefore you can enjoy walking in her footsteps whilst staying in our apartment located in the beautiful city of Bath!
Just across there road, at the end of Great Pulteney street and set in Sydney Gardens, is the Holbourne museum which was featured in Bridgerton as the Lady Danbury’s house. Great Pulteney street, a splendid Georgian parade, leads you to Pulteney Bridge and the lively centre of Bath.
