La'al Lodge was designed and built in 2022. Every effort has been made to create a place where you can relax and feel comfortable; your home from home.
We try to reduce the impact of travel and tourism on the environment, by providing a place built to be Eco friendly as our budget could stretch too. We have also had installed an E.V. charger for guests to use at a competitive rate to encourage more electric car use in our area.
There is so much to enjoy in our small town (not just the Mintcake!) and our Lodge provides the perfect place to stay. If you're thinking of exploring the wider Lakes area, then Kendal, known as The Gateway to the Lakes, is a great central location for wherever your exploring takes you.
The property is in the grounds of the main residence, however, due to the large garden privacy and peaceful abiance are assured.
The property is at the lower end of the garden, some steps and a gradiented path are the means of accessing the property and people with mobility issues, or the elderly may wish to book a more suitable place to stay.
Hi Everyone,
I'm Kendal born and bred, and have lived at this address for over 50 years. When I was old enough, I purchased this property from the council and since then have continuously upgraded the property into what you see today.
Since the family moved here in 1969, it has seen four generations of family, with me the third and my children the fourth.
We have used Airbnb for years for our own getaways, and now we have created our own place to share with everyone - La'al Lodge! We feel the Lodge has everything we would like to experience on a few days stay away, and hope that you like it as much as we do.
I have lived here for over 50 years and in my opinion the area is safe to roam around during the day or night.
We are very handy for Kendal town and are situated in the Kirkland area, which is one of the the oldest areas of the town. With one of the UK's widest and oldest churches (Kirkland Parish Church) and we have a ruined castle just 5 minutes away that is said to have been the home of Katherine Parr (one of Henry VIII's wives).
We also have river walks and parks practically on our doorstep.
The property where the Lodge is situated has good views all year round.
We are on the doorstep of the Lake District, with good routes to all areas of the National Park.
We are just off the main M6 motorway which is handy for arriving and especially leaving the area as large queues can build up after a sunny weekend, or a bank holiday, giving you in some cases several hours head start home.
Please contact us for other real honest information about the area.
Regards
Glyn and Christine.
