Neighbourhood information

The fabulous rural setting of this lovingly renovated barn near the Lôn Goed provides a haven of peace and tranquility for guests wishing to spend time at the property, as well as exploring the local area. Doors from both the lounge and kitchen open into a fabulous garden space including a sunny patio area with brightly coloured wooden seating, an outdoor dining set, drum barbeque and most impressively a wood heated hot tub with privacy screen. This, as well as a large lawn, creates the perfect private space for al fresco dining in the evenings, a glass of wine in the hot tub, or simply a secure space for the kids to play. If you manage to drag yourself away, there is also plenty do in this part of the Pen Llŷn. For gentle walks, the picturesque Lôn Goed passes nearby the property. A seven mile woodland walk, Lôn Goed begins at the coastal setting of Afonwen before heading inland towards Bryncir. Lôn Goed translates in English to Tree Lane, so unsurprisingly much of the route is under a canopy of trees providing shade (or shelter) from the elements. It's a lovely walk and suitable for all the family. Keen cyclists will also enjoy the area with a number of cycle lanes that start nearby, one of which heads in the direction of Caernarfon and onwards into the Ogwen Valley. The seaside town of Criccieth is only a ten minute drive from Llwyn y Forwyn and is a great destination for a day out. With the imposing Criccieth Castle sitting at the high point of the town, there are fabulous views into Eryri (Snowdonia) and along Cardigan Bay from here. Be sure to stop into Cadwalader's for some amazing ice cream, or grab a sea front lunch at Dylan's Restaurant, located in a fabulous art deco building. Slightly further afield, Morfa Bychan beach is a long expanse of golden sand where drivers can park on the beach. It's a popular spot for all in the summer months. For amazing coastal walks, the Pen Llŷn has a range of diverse landscapes, all accessed along the Wales Coast...
