There was a fabulous basket of goodies for each cottage. Something for everyone. Log burner was needed on a cold evening so easy to use and instant heat.

Lower Curscombe Barn is a beautiful conversion of a 400-year-old threshing barn, comprising 2 adjacent properties together sleeping 12 - Harvest Moon, sleeps 8, and Hunters Moon, sleeps 4. Each spacious property is self-contained with its own facilities and bright and airy interiors with contemporary décor and cosy wood burners. The dining table at Harvest Moon can be extended to seat all 12 members of your party. Upstairs, 6 spacious bedrooms are combined with 4 first-class bathrooms, 3 of which are en suite. There is a further shower room on the ground floor. The pet-friendly accommodation welcomes up to 4 well-behaved dogs with private fully enclosed gardens with dog-proof fencing. Both properties benefit from spacious open plan kitchen/dining/family rooms with French doors onto a terrace, with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. Situated on a quiet, semi-working farm in the tiny hamlet of Curscombe, the barn makes an ideal base for families and groups of friends with a minimum 3 night stay. There is parking for 6 cars. Looking out over lush green fields, numerous countryside walks are on the doorstep & guests can paddle in the stream, have a picnic and spot wildlife.

Lower Curscombe is situated within the peaceful Otter Valley near Honiton in tranquil E.Devon. It is 1.5 miles from Feniton village which has a train service (Waterloo-Exeter), pub, shops & post office. The market town & antique centre of Honiton is 4 miles, boasting a variety of small independent shops, pubs & eating places. Places to visit in this part of Devon include the nearest beach at Sidmouth, 11.5 miles, & the beaches at Budleigh, Salterton, Beer, Branscombe & Exmouth are all within easy reach. Enjoy the World Heritage Jurassic Coast from Seaton’s tramway along the wildlife-rich Axe estuary to Charmouth, great for fossil enthusiasts. There are many attractions in the area, with Exeter, Dartmoor, Exmoor, fine National Trust houses, gardens, castles, adventure parks, farms & steam railways to explore. The Otter Inn (2.5 miles) is pet-friendly & has a large beer garden bordered by the River. There are a number of excellent pub/restaurants in other villages nearby. Hunters Moon is perfect if it’s a dog-friendly holiday you’re looking for - there are numerous country strolls from the doorstep, some of the best SW Coast Path walks, trails at Haldon Forest & dog-friendly beaches.
