Company information

Abigail and Jeremy moved into Lynwood House in 2008, Abigail has run the bed and breakfast along side being a mother to Megan and Seth. Abigail trained as a chef at Prue Leith's and has worked in the catering and hospitality industry for over 15 years.

Property information

Lynwood House has been a bed and breakfast for many years and was taken over by Abigail and Jeremy Merrick in 2008. They welcome you most warmly and are open all year. Lynwood House has twin and double rooms available. Three of these are situated in the main house and all have en-suite with shower, basin and loo. Bedrooms either overlook Tregony valley or the south facing garden; they are modestly decorated with country cottons and comfortably furnished. Each room has Wifi, a television with Freeview, hairdryer, radio alarm clock, a wide selection of teas and coffees, and a mini fridge for fresh milk. Guests will enjoy soft sheets, fluffy bath towels and hopefully a good night’s rest. Ironing board and iron is available on request. A delicious breakfast will be served on the long dining room table (Abigail is a Leith’s trained chef). You will be offered a selection of cereals and fruit as well as a full cooked English breakfast. Vegetarians will be happily catered for if Abigail is advised on booking. Lynwood House is not licensed, however the local pub and off-license are just up the road so your stay need not be teetotal.

Neighbourhood information

Lynwood House is situated near the Fal river at the very edge of Tregony village. Historically, Tregony is known as the 'gateway to the Roseland'. The river is a popular place for bird watchers and there are some lovely riverside and woodland walks in the area. Well known for its countryside and quiet beaches, the peninsula has impressive coastal and river scenery and picturesque villages. Ultimately this road reaches the sea and St Mawes, a one time fishing village which is now a picturesque little harbour full of sailing boats. There are boat trips to various destinations and a passenger ferry that crosses regularly to Falmouth on the other side of the Fal estuary. Apart from enjoying the wonderful countryside, swimming in the pretty coves and lazing on the local beaches there is lots to do in Cornwall. The well known surfing beaches on the north coast are not far from Tregony, you can ride, bike, picnic, explore and above all relax. For more information and pictures please click through to our main site. There are a number of great places to eat localy, The Kings Arms in the village is only 7 minutes walk and the award winning Kings Head is only 10 minutes drive.
