High levels of comfort, cleanliness and character. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We were attending a function at The Folly and the B&B was ideally located being a 5 minute walk away.

Mackworth Farm B&B in a large historic farmhouse looking over open fields and pasture. The house is a 10-minute drive from Derby, the local railway station and bus station. Mackworth House is ideally located for Local Airports, Railway and Motorway links, the NEC and Donnington Race Track. Further information Close by are Ashbourne, Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Alton Towers and the Peak District. Closest Pub and Restaurants - a brisk 5 minutes walk away and a 6 minutes stagger back!! This IS a working dairy farm and my home. There is always something to see. Although Mackworth House Farm is in a rural location it's located a short drive away from Derby City Centre. Other than the mooing of cows, the clucking of chickens, it’s generally a peaceful place to be. A quaint, unique, stylish, farmhouse of charm and character, Mackworth House Farm is steeped in local history with its grand façade, oak staircase, parquet floors and oak beams it is a great place to escape to. Come and stay and enjoy a night or two on a real working farm. Relax, treat yourself and enjoy this home from home experience. Important information: We have pets - two gorgeous Pointers.
Mackworth Castle was a 14th- or 15th-century structure located in Derbyshire, at the upper end of Mackworth village near Derby. The home for several centuries of the Du Mackworth family, it was at some point reduced to the ruins of a gatehouse suggestive of a grand castle. A survey from 1911 suggested that though the gatehouse resembled a castle, the rest of the structure may have been more modest. Mackworth House Farm is 17th Century and sits on foundations which were once part of the Castle. The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book Mackworth All Saints Church dates from the 14th century. It was restored and reopened by the Bishop of Lichfield on Thursday 13 November 1851.
