We pride ourselves on making our guests feel like they're home-from-home - with a few treats along the way - and a fabulous breakfast to kickstart your day. Dogs are very welcome with a lovely big fully-enclosed garden to the rear of the House to enjoy.
Kate, Ann and Tara (Border Terrier) took over the stewardship of Maple Bank in September 2018. Always a dream of Kate's, this mother-daughter team are loving their B&B here in Cumbria. Ann - otherwise known as the Head Gardener - is thoroughly enjoying transforming the garden. Including designing and building a lovely terrace for guests to sit out and enjoy the afternoon sunshine. Trevor (Patterdale Terrier) joined the family in 2022 and Kate has a fantastic team who work with her, both in the kitchen, the dining room, the garden and in the House. All live locally and can happily chat with guests to help out with plans for the day, routes to explore and tea shops to enjoy!
Plenty to do in Keswick and the local area of Braithwaite, Thornthwaite, Cockermouth, Portinscale and beyond. Dining out in pubs and restaurants, tea shops, cafes and restaurants for lunch, tea and your evening meals. Local museums, boat trips, kayaking, paddle boarding, extreme events, hosted hikes and ghost walks, walking with alpacas, gin and whisky distillery tours, ghyll-diving, bouldering, hiking, steam trains, historic houses and gardens, local theatre and cinema, galleries and markets. Plenty to do and keep you busy, not to mention 214 Wainwrights to climb.
