Marine House is a cosy self catering family house that comfortably hosts up to 6 adults, The house has 3 bedrooms 1 double with Ensuite shower room, a lovely twin room both overlooking the Portree harbour, and a double room to the back of the house, the house has a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine. On the 1st floor there is a bathroom with shower over the bath and downstairs also has a smaller shower room. Beaumont crescent where the house is located is part of Portree harbour heritage and conservation area. An ideal base for all the local amenities.
I have hospitality in my blood and indeed my genes, Marine house has a log history in Portree and indeed in my family the current marine house was purchased by my Grandmother and aunt in 1960 when the original Marine house was purchased to make way for the current oil depot which operated as a guest house, My mother and father bought the house next door at No 3 in 1964 and ultimately from the late 70's ran the two houses as a guest house until around 2003 when I came back to Skye and ran Marine House as a B&B and now as a self catering holiday home. Nothing delights me more than to share my knowledge of the Island and make people feel as welcome to the island whether it is a first visit or folks returning to explore more of our lovely Isle of Skye. in my spare time I am involved with walking groups which go across the island on different walks once or twice a week.
Portree is the main town on the Isle of Skye, an ideal base for exploring the whole island. Portree and indeed Skye is famous the world over and visited by tourists from across the world. There are many local restaurants within walking distance, Beaumont Crescent itself is within the Portree harbour heritage and consrvation area with stunning views over to Raasay
