Company information

Following a successful career with British Airways Amanda retrained as a chef and has worked at such places as Swinton Park cookery school and Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire. Running a Guest House has always been her ambition and Market Cross benefits not only from her skills in the kitchen but also her eye for design. Steve comes from a background of logistics and Health and Safety on the British railway network and never expected to be running a Guest House. Unexpectedly, he loves it and is responsible for front of house as well as the background work. He also looks after the garden and is chief washer up.

Our breakfasts are cooked to order and we cater for as many dietary requirements and life choices as possible. We always try to only use seasonal, British fruit where possible. We offer a slice of homemade cake on arrival and fresh milk for tea/coffee to help you relax and begin your stay.
