Newberry Wood Guesthouse is tucked among North Devonshire woodland & countryside within secluded, spacious gardens and with spectacular views out to sea & over the hills of Exmoor National Park. On a clear day it is possible to see the south coast of Wales and Swansea across the Bristol channel.
This newly renovated 1930's property offers clean, comfortable and stylish individually styled rooms show casing lovingly restored original features. Our guest rooms offer luxury comfort with exceptional quality pillows and mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen, soft cotton towels and luxury eco friendly toiletries. In addition our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, bedside sockets with USB.
Our rooms, all of which are situated on the first floor, have access to either a private or shared balcony to enjoy the beautiful views. Guests also may use and enjoy the shared garden and patio areas.
Free parking for all our guests is available on a spacious private driveway. Please note however that we can only accommodate one car per room booked. If you require more than one car parking space per room booked please contact us in advance and we will try to make this possible for you.
I'm lucky enough to live right here in this beautiful part of the world with my two British shorthair silver tabby cats. I would be delighted for you to join me and I will do my best to guide you around the area in a way that best suits you.
Situated on the South West coast path with excellent transport links including a bus stop right outside the house this is the perfect base for your North Devon visit. We are just a 5 minute walk to mermaid cove and Newberry beach, both beautiful secluded pebble coves and just a few minutes walk further to the larger sandy beach of Combe Martin where you will find, shops, pubs, cafes, fish and chips and also kayak and paddleboard hire (subject to seasonal opening times).
The beautiful village of Berrynarbor is a few minutes drive away and where you will find The Old Globe Inn and a community shop selling locally made produce.
The fishing town of Ilfracombe is a 10 minute drive away and has an array of independent shops, pubs & restaurants. The statue of 'Verity', donated by former resident Damien Hirst, stands on the quay and is a must see for all visitors.
The surfing resorts of Woolacome and Croyd are 20 minutes drive away and where you will find the biggest sandy beaches.
Exmoor and all it has to offer is right on our doorstep. Continue on the coast path from Combe Martin to Great and Little Hangman Hills and enjoy spectacular scenery from the highest sea cliff in England!
