The Lamplighter features a top rated traditional restaurant, lounge bar and terraces, serving real ales and Lakeland specialities. In the heart of beautiful Windermere, the elegant rooms are large and airy. Each of the spacious rooms has a private en suite bathroom. All rooms have a TV and tea and coffee facilities. The popular Lamplighter Dining Room serves a creative British menu, using local and seasonal produce. Fresh fish is delivered daily, and the bar offers a range of guest ales. The Lamplighter also hosts folk, jazz and blues nights on a Wednesday. Built from Lakeland Stone, the hotel features a relaxing guest lounge with ample seating. There is also a large car park, providing free private parking for guests. The building has maintained its original features, including grand fireplaces and large sash windows. The Lamplighter is just 2 minutes’ walk from Windermere Railway Station and coach stop. Situated just off the A591, which runs right through the Lake District, Orrest Head is 10 minutes’ walk away. The famous lake can be reached in just 20 minutes.
