Virginia and Ben have 3 lovely daughters who will enjoy making you feel at home. They all love health and fitness, walking up the local fells, swimming in the lake next to the house and exploring everything the Lake District has to offer. Virginia is also a registered Nutritional Therapist and Pilates instructor and Ben is a keen marital artist, having 5 black belts in Karate, another one in Jeet Kune Do and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - he is the assistant coach to the England JKS Karate squad. He is also very passionate about coffee!!

We are a family run guesthouse in the heart of the Lake District and directly opposite Bassenthwaite Lake. We aim to provide a relaxed atmosphere, excellent service, delicious choices of breakfasts including vegetarian and vegan options. The guesthouse is great value for money in a stunningly beautiful and peaceful location perfect for swimming, walking, cycling, kayaking and more. We are a dog friendly guesthouse (additional charge required) welcoming your dogs with sausages for breakfast and lots of love and attention. The guesthouse also has a drying room for your wet clothes / shoes as well as an honesty bar and a guest lounge for you to relax in. There is a wonderful pub (The Pheasant Inn) and a cafe (Bassenthwaite Lake Station Cafe) within walking distance and another fabulous pub (The Wheatsheaf) just 2 miles away. We offer packed lunches for you to take away (24hrs notice required) and Keswick is only 7 miles down the road, with Cockermouth just 5 miles - both have lots of wonderful restaurants and shop choices.

Quiet and peaceful with Bassenthwaite Lake right outside the front door, a lovely nature Reserve next door (Silver Meadows) but still only 5 miles from Cockermouth and 7 miles from Keswick. We have the Pheasant Inn within walking distance as well as the Bassenthwaite Station Cafe plus another fabulous pub just 2 miles away. Easy access to some of the best walks in the area.
