About Host: David and Agnes are spouses. Both with various professional background. We enjoy hospitality and have won a Traveller review Award each year since we opened. (See award on our photos). We are quite clean loving family; and enjoy helping our guests and making their stay with us feel special . We have leaflets for places and things to see in the Island. We treat each guest as an individual, seek information on their like and try our best to provide as far as possible to make them as comfortable as possible. A home from home where guests meet as strangers and leave as friends. We supply full house keeping service (like hotels service). Daily room cleaning except on Sundays. Free towels change is provided as required by guest but only for hire of 3 nights plus. Linen changed as required (please let us know if require bed linen charge. We have 25% off Red-Funnel ferry discount codes when you come over to the island for 2 nights or more & this is on first come basis. We have a large shed/garage where bikes can be safely locked away at night. (Please note this is not available at present as under refurbishment)

About property : Ponders End is an Adults only Bed and Breakfast; and has 4 bedrooms available. But from 21/09/ 2021 only 3 rooms will be available. Free Parking on premises/roadside, on a first comes basis. Big Garden, gazebo & Canopy. Room BR1 and BR2 are full ensuite, upstairs at first floor 14 steps (stairs). Has Chelsea Hotel contract super king size beds that can be used as two separate singles . Room BR1 has facilities for up to 3 single beds. Room BR4 is downstairs; and is a (Standard twin room with a garden view); and is a Shower only Ensuite ; and it has own private toilet and basin 4 meters along the corridor. Current bed setting is a double bed only. All bedrooms have view of garden/nature. The property was built in 1963 and has been our family home. Renovated & furnished to a high modern standard in 2020, while keeping some historical features such as wood, fireplace, Aga etc. Situated near designated natural features, such as Shide Chalk Pit, Squirrel-Trail, etc. Less than 30minutes on foot from Newport town centre and the local golf course, close to the cycle path route on the old railway track and the Medina River. Perfectly located for easy access to all areas of the Island by car, bus, bike or foot and 2 minutes’ walk to bus stop. 6 minutes’ drive to Carisbrooke Castle, St Mary's Hospital, and 13 minutes to Osborne House. Newport has several pubs and a variety of restaurants. Dining room/Lounge has a (mini-Kitchenet)- Microwave provided for heating ready meals only. Extra Curtley, Water and tea making facilities. . Breakfast is free ( STARTS 07:30 - 08:30hrs ( Monday - Saturday) 07:30am - 8:00 (Sunday). Please see housekeeping service & breakfast (details). Each of our rooms have tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge, Tassimo,TV. Due to property provide cooked Breakfast, for Food Healthy and Safety no access to the Kitchen. Please ask if need extra plates, cutlery, or extra water etc. No cooking facilities provided.

About Neighbourhood: The area is normally quiet, and the neighbours are friendly. Situated near the road but we have double grazed windows. Sometimes traffic on the Road could be heard if room windows are open, but we have compensated for this by providing each room with a silent Fan. We are nearby scientific interest area, designated natural features, such as Shide Chalk Pit, Squirrel-Trail, St Georges down etc, Less than 30minutes on foot from Newport town-centre and the local golf-course, close to the cycle path route on the old railway track and the Medina River. Perfectly located for easy access to all areas of the Island by car, bus, bike, or foot. Bus stop is 2 minutes’ walk from our property . 6-minutes’ drive to Carisbrooke Castle or St Mary's Hospital and 13 minutes to Osborne House. Newport has several pubs, variety of restaurants as well as some cool cafes if you want to eat out. Several supermarkets, and we are remarkably close to Asda (7 minute by foot & 2 minutes’ drive) Close by Indian restaurant (just opposite the road) and this is very much loved by our guests and at times the restaurant has provided discount to our guest .
