Immerse yourself in culture as you roam around the beautiful and historical Cathedral City of Ripon. Home to the stunning and imposing Cathedral where you'll find the ancient Saxon crypt. There are many museums to explore and of cause the Apartment is ideal for racegoers, wishing to place a bet or two at the beautiful Ripon Racecourse! Enjoy walks along the River Skell direct from the apartment front door, one direction takes you past the historic cathedral, the other into the Hell Wath Nature reserve. Or you may just wish to wander the 400 yards into Ripon Town Centre to take in the many local shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. On a fine evening, meander up to the town square to hear the Hornblower blow his horn at 9pm to declare that all is well - a tradition that goes back over a thousand years! For the more ambitious walkers, head up to the historic Fountains Abbey, which is one of the largest and best-preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. For families who wish to stay, venture out for a family fun-filled day at Light Water Valley Theme Park, with a thrilling choice of rollercoasters, or spend a day at Ripon's Garden Racecourse. Studley Royal is also a great day out, particularly in winter where you can admire the reindeer and if your lucky Rudolph will make an appearance! Newby Hall & Gardens is also worth pencilling into your itinerary, boasting over 25 acres of sensational gardens, featuring unique flora and plants, or take a scenic drive over to the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Chapter House Apartment is central to both the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors National Parks, both offering a wealth of picturesque walking trails, challenging cycling routes, high peaks, and charming villages dotted throughout, whilst the lively towns of York and Harrogate rests just slightly further afield - but well worth a visit!
