Redwood Lodge is a comfortable self-catering lodge, surrounded by woodland on a hill overlooking the stunning Dee Valley.
It is perfect for couples or families with up to two children and features flexible sleeping arrangements, with one double bed and two singles. These can be set up as twin beds, combined to make a king-size bed, or converted to a daybed/sofa, with one bed frame folded away to free up space.
Your well-equipped kitchenette has everything you need to cook up a storm at the end of a long day in the great outdoors. Besides a microwave, fridge, sink, toaster, kettle and electric hobs, you will also find kitchen equipment and basic kitchen supplies, along with a dining area. Your private shower room is a few short yards away, just across the drive.
The secluded garden is the perfect place to relax in the evening, glass of wine in hand, as you watch the sun set over the other side of the valley to the sound of our resident owls. Once the last of the light has faded, the stars put on a spectacular show thanks to the area's dramatic dark skies, with nothing but the rustling leaves and babbling hill streams as your soundtrack.
Guests are welcome to use our travel cot and high chair – please get in touch with us directly after booking if you would like to request this. Please note that the single beds will not be made up for bookings of one or two people, unless requested otherwise. If you would like either of the twin beds made up ready for you, please contact us directly after booking.
Croeso! We are excited to be able to welcome you to our little corner of paradise in rural north Wales. Having fallen in love with the magnificent views here, the endless rainbows and the warmth of the local community, we moved here in early 2022. We share our home with our two children and three dogs, as well as a goat, a few ducks and geese, and our faithful flock of rescue hens who keep us well stocked with delicious fresh eggs for you to enjoy. If you'd like to get to know our animals a bit, just let us know and we'll gladly arrange this for you!
The rural village of Cynwyd has a local shop and post office, a church and a popular dog-friendly pub that offers good pub grub. Fives minutes' drive away is Corwen, with more shops, a bakery, chemist, butchers, vets, cafes and a range of takeaway options. The popular town of Llangollen is just half an hour away, as are the historic town of Ruthin and the much-loved Betws-y-Coed. Lake Bala – home to the National White Water Rafting Centre and boasting beautiful walks around the lake – is closer still. Steam train enthusiasts can enjoy a leisurely trip on the narrow-gauge line at Lake Bala or ride on the heritage railway line from the newly reopened station in Corwen, following the River Dee to Llangollen. The spectacular peaks of Snowdonia are within easy reach, whilst enduringly popular coastal destinations such as Llandudno, Conwy and Rhyl are all approximately an hour's drive on the north coast, with Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog and Portmeirion about the same distance away on the west coast. For a bit of serious shopping or a day in the city, the Roman city of Chester is fifty minutes by car, whilst Liverpool is just over an hour's travel away.
