Pretty much everything, fantastic hosts with the bonus of a very friendly cat and 2 dogs, but only if you wanted the company otherwise they were kept away. We had the use of a very cosy guest lounge with a roaring wood burner. Lovely breakfast, my...

Rock House is a 300 year old Georgian family home offering comfortable bed and breakfast on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Originally dating back to 1720, Rock House is a Grade 2 listed house situated in the hamlet of Alport, located between the thriving market town of Bakewell and the village of Youlgrave. Close to Chatsworth, and on the doorstep of Haddon Hall, we are ideally based for those wishing to explore the wonders of the area plus some fabulous walks right on our doorstep. We live here with our 3 dogs and 2 cats and quite a few spiders, although we are winning that battle! We are very relaxed but do offer squeaky clean rooms and a warm welcome
I am a country girl at heart and absolutely love where we live. Surrounded by a beautiful landscape that offers up some excellent walks without the need of jumping in a car...which is lucky as I have 2 very active labradors that like nothing more than a stomp across the fields. As well s the BNB I also work at Chatsworth which is the best job in the world!!
Alport is a tiny hamlet owned in the majority by the Duke of Rutland. Rock House came into private ownership I 1840 when it was traded for a parcel of land. We are perfectly placed for not only exploring the Peak District, but Derbyshire and Staffordshire too.
