Sea Gem is our dog friendly holiday home in the traditional fishing village of Newlyn, which is around a mile from Penzance. Newlyn is a fantastic location for a holiday, being within a stone's throw of St Ives, Lands End, St Michael's Mount and the Lizard. Also only 2 minutes walk from The Newlyn School of Art for anyone who may be attending one of their courses. A wonderful place to spend a holiday at any time of the year with fantastic sea views of Penzance from our cosy window seats. Sea Gem is fully equipped with everything which you would need for a restful break, including TV, DVD player, Netflix ( please use own log in ) and Wifi. A new boiler was installed recently, so the house will be cosy for winter breaks.There are three comfortable bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with two twin beds and a third single room. All linen and towels are provided. Downstairs, there is a tastefully decorated lounge with two recently purchased sofas to relax upon. This room also has the feature of a window seat with a comfortable cushion where you can while away the hours as you gaze at the sea view down the road. The master bedroom also has a window seat with the same view!

My husband and I always want our guests to feel completely at home at Sea Gem and to have a wonderful holiday there. We have been visiting Cornwall for many years and have had many happy family holidays there. We loved the area so much, we managed to purchase our holiday home there in Newlyn and called it Sea Gem. We love to feel that our guests will enjoy the area as much as we do and will go home feeling refreshed and happy. Sea Gem is comfortable and well equipped and ideally located to visit so many beautiful places. Please note there are steps which lead up to the front door. There is a handrail provided. There is also step-free access to the rear of the property.

It is an easy 5 minute stroll down into the village which boasts several fresh fish shops selling the catch of the local fishermen. Newlyn, along with many other Cornish coastal resorts is quite hilly and it can be a bit of a climb back up from the village, which may not be suitable for less mobile guests.There are several local pubs which are dog friendly, a fish and chip shop, a Chinese takeaway and a Co-op store. There is also a Michelin star pub ( The Tolcarne Inn) and the famous ice cream shop, Jelberts, which has been in existence for many years. Mackerel Sky, which is a wonderful sea food restaurant is also very much recommended, as is the fantastic Italian restaurant, The Bridge. Newlyn has a year round dog friendly pebble beach and from there you can carry on into Penzance, which is an easy walk. There is also another beach at the other end of the village called Roskilly, which is also dog friendly and has wonderful views of St Michaels Mount and the start of the coastal path to Mousehole. If art is an interest of yours, then you could book one of the many diverse courses which the famous Newlyn School of Art offers. The school is literally a stone's throw from Sea Gem.
