Gorgeous private modern loft annex to 1830 cottage, accessed via external stairs. Double bedroom, bathroom & lounge/kitchenette onto terrace with stunning panoramic views across Ynyshir & Dyfi Estuary to Southern Snowdonia. Vegan and eco-friendly bathing products & cleaning products. Bespoke provisions can be provided on request re. celebrating special events (additional charge before arrival). Beautiful hill, woodland, waterfall, valley walks straight from the door. Mountain walks within 20 mins, including Cadair Idris. Great public transport links with bus stops directly outside Parking on property (usually undercover of car port), undercover bike storage & bike washing facilities.
I'm an ecologist, specializing in lichens, and have worked all over Wales for the last 30 years. Feel free to ask me about the area, or lichens! We've lived here for 20 years but have lived in the Mach-Aber area for more than 30 years. We love our home, our funny cat, our amazing views and our great village community. We love the wildness, quiet hills and Cadair Idris being so close, the amazing panoramic views and Atlantic Oakwoods 'Celtic Rainforest' valleys filled with tiny gems and tumbling waterfalls. You can walk or run straight from home into the hills, and not see a soul all day. The beautiful coast and natural unspoilt estuary is wonderful to walk and explore, or to paddle your kayak and swim. Both Mach and Aber are great little and big individual thriving towns - happy to tell you more.
Friendly, welcoming and community-focused. The listed village hall supports many events each week including Table Tennis, Scottish Dancing, Tai-chi, Book Club, WI, and regular Quiz and Film Nights. The hall is available to hire at low rates (Eglwys Fach Iron Room). Hourly buses between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth leave from either the bus stop across the road (to Aber) or literally just outside the house (hail bus down). Dyfi junction train station is 2 miles walk or cycle (access along a gravel track - 10 min walk). There is space for 3 cars to park at the start of the track. Machynlleth train station is 6 miles away with free parking.
