Our homely pod is in a quiet location on the outskirts of Long Marton in the Eden Valley, with amazing views of the Pennines and Lake District fells. We're only a 30 min drive from the Lake District The pod has two single beds which can be moved together to make a double, if preferred. Bedding is all included. There's a lovely warm shower and bathroom just a short walk from the Pod. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the pod, along with a toaster, mini fridge and microwave. Outside there is a seating area. We are happy for you to bring you dog(s), but ask that you keep them under control and on a lead, as we have sheep, a cat, a dog and horses at the property. And if you have a horse or pony, why not bring it along on holiday with you, as we have a paddock and stables too. Please contact me directly as there is an extra charge per horse.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing the beautiful place we live in. You can get to meet our friendly Dutch Spotted Sheep, 3 horses, Tilly the cat and Eddy the dog.
Long Marton is a lovely, traditional Eden Valley village with a local, friendly pub, The Masons Arms, which serves lovely food to eat in or take out, and is only a short walk from the pod. Booking is recommended if you wish to eat in. There are lots of country lanes for walking or cycling. The next village along, Dufton, is where you'll find the famous High Cup Nick. Dufton also hosts a nice village pub, The Stag Inn, where you can enjoy a welcome pint and a bite to eat after your walk up High Cup Nick or Dufton Pike. Only 30 minutes away is the beautiful and dramatic Lake District, where there are plenty of places to walk, cycle and visit, even on a wet day! The North Yorkshire Moors aren't too far away either. A bit closer is the market town of Appleby, which holds an open market every Saturday and you can also visit the historic Appleby Castle. For those interested in trains, the Carlisle to Settle railway runs along the bottom of our fields and during the summer you can see steam trains running on a Saturday and Tuesday. There is also the Staycation Express which runs along the Carlisle to Settle line from July to September, you can board this from Appleby Station.
